The Ridin Dudes Records Austria®
Interview with Rene Grohs about the foundation of their own record label and the management of the dudes
How did you come up with the idea of your own label?
What does this label stand for?
Anyone interested in this genre is welcome in the "little product" RnR, Coundryrock, Blues. The well-established collaboration with production companies and audio-visual artists a`la Alex König is intended to enable even beginners to publish their own CDs without having to invest huge sums. Moreover, having your own label makes the Dudes independent and free to develop musically. Being able to pursue and develop their passion without contractual constraints increases the fun, and what you do with joy makes you feel good.
Are there concrete projects?
Music should connect and so the idea came up to produce a compilation CD - "Best of Austrian Rock'n'Roll", on which trendy bands of the Austrian RnR & Rockabilly scene can be found as well as newcomers.
What is your success?
If I do something, then with 120%. Focus & diligence, just as an example: Facebook-Markting. You have the opportunity to provide "murderous" people with high quality information and updates. In the last 2 years we could win the 5000 Likes for the Facebook page. We have a weekly range of 13,000-23,000. The last video by Ron & Tony Wegas had 130,000 views in 10 days in America and was shared 2,500 times. But this only works with a good product and personal commitment.
The single release When i was five is played and promoted on various radio stations, in October recording of two songs in the SUN Studios in America, will be released as a single, a limited edition also on vinyl ...
Note d. Editors: A list from Rene's diary would go beyond the scope.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Very far ahead! At the beginning we had certain stations in mind, such as play once in the Vienna's "Metropol". Today we play for the 4th time in the sold-out house. Meanwhile, a show in Vienna's great Cityhall is no longer a utopia. In 5 years, there will be a revue touring Europe - with trucks and "Dudes" Nightliner. It's still just the beginning and we've already fixed 22 big gigs for next year - there's still something big coming!
Thank you for the talk!
